The hits just keep on coming for the Tennessee Volunteers.
According to WATE, Tennessee’s star running back John Kelly and freshman linebacker Will Ignont were cited last night in Knoxville. The incident occurred at 10:46 PM on Cumberland Avenue. Kelly was driving the car and Ignont was a passenger.
According to the report, a plastic bag with what appeared to be marijuana was found in the console. Police also found a glass pipe. Neither player claimed ownership of the bag nor pipe.
The report says the two players have until November 7th to turn themselves in for booking at the Knox county Sheriff’s office.
John Kelly was cited for possession of a schedule six drug, which is a misdemeanor. He was also cited for not having a headlight along with not having proof of insurance. Ignont was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, also a misdemeanor.
Tennessee plays at Kentucky this Saturday night. We’ll update this story with any new information.
