College Football Odds: LSU opens double-digit favorite over Tennessee

Too high? Too low?

Tennessee dropped their sixth straight conference loss on Saturday in the form of a 50-17 thumping by Missouri. The Vols will look to get their first SEC win this Saturday when they welcome 21st ranked LSU to Knoxville.

While LSU looked to be in bad shape early in the season after losses to Mississippi State and Troy, the Tigers have surged, winning four of their last five games including wins at Florida and versus a top 10 Auburn team. As such, they’ve opened as a 14 point favorite over the home standing Vols on Saturday night.

With Tennessee parting ways with fifth year head coach Butch Jones on Sunday, former Michigan head coach and current Tennessee defensive line coach Brady Hoke will assume interim head coaching duties. It’s possible this line will increase closer to kickoff.

LSU running back Derrius Guice posted 147 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in a 33-10 win over Arkansas on Saturday, while Tennessee’s defense gave over 230 to Missouri’s rushing attack.
