Tennessee’s search for a head coach is about to really get rolling as the regular season wraps up this weekend. With the Grumors going silent, the feeling in Knoxville is that Tennessee AD John Currie has moved on to Dan Mullen, among others.
Right on cue, Bruce Feldman reports that Mississippi State is ready to step up to keep Dan Mullen in Starkville.
Have been told this AM #MissState is set to step up and go all in to keep Dan Mullen at MSU, making an even bigger commitment to him and to his staff.

The 9th year head coach just finished up the regular season with a loss to Ole Miss after losing starting quarterback Nick Fitzgerald to an ugly lower leg injury early in the game. The Bulldogs finished the 2017 regular season at 8-4.
Mullen was asked if he was going to stay at Mississippi State last night after his loss to Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl. “I plan on it,” Mullen said. “I’m very happy here. I’m happy with what we’ve built. I have a great president and administration.”
Of course, what else is he going to say right there? College coaches have proven that they can’t be trusted this time of year. However this plays out, Dan Mullen is about to get a raise. I think that’s about the only thing that we can say for sure at this point.
This is about to get fun.
