As to be expected with a coaching change, there has been plenty of turnover in Tennessee’s 2018 class. Butch Jones and company had this group ranked inside the top five at one point, but it slowly started to fall apart as the writing appeared on the wall.
Today, as Jeremy Pruitt tries to piece things back together, Tennessee has been hit with another decommitment. This time it comes in the form of Brandon Cross.

Cross is a three star cornerback from Orlando, Florida. He had been committed to Tennessee since June. Cross visited Knoxville this past weekend to get to know the new staff. After doing that, he has decided to go in a different direction.
If I had to guess, we probably aren’t done with decommitments either. Pruitt and his staff may not want guys that Butch Jones and his staff wanted. The prospects may not take to the new staff. It happens — it’s part of it.
I think Tennessee is in good hands on the trail, however. Pruitt had a busy weekend playing catch up, but it sounds like he’s already made some headway with some key guys. It’s going to be a fun next 10 days to see what kind of progress he and his staff can make.
