It’s no secret that Jeremy Pruitt’s biggest need was offensive lineman. He’s been offering plenty of JUCO guys, just looking for immediate numbers and guys that can play quickly.
A guy that Tennessee seemingly got in late on, has now committed to the Volunteers. Four star in-state offensive lineman Jerome Carvin is going to be a Vol, giving Pruitt and offensive line coach Will Friend some of that much needed immediate help up front.
Carvin is a 6-4, 330 pound guy with experience at tackle and guard. He comes from Cordova, Tennessee. Carvin picked the Vols over Mississippi State, where the consensus thought he would be headed.
Tennessee also picked up a commitment from three star running back Jeremy Banks. The Vols were able to wrestle Banks away from Nebraska. The 6-2, 215 pound running back is considered to be a three star prospect. He attended Cordova with Jerome Carvin.
Each announced their intentions live at a ceremony at Cordova High School.
Update: Carvin’s papers are in. He’s official.
