Tennessee Recruiting: Vols offer four star quarterback out of California

The Vols are going to work out west.

Student Sports

Ever since Jeremy Pruitt’s regime took over, the Tennessee Volunteers have been going to work out west. Specifically, California. Maybe new offensive coordinator Tyson Helton has something to do with that.

Helton and Pruitt were able to get in late and sway three star quarterback JT Shrout to solidify the 2018 class, now they have started work on the 2019 group. Four star quarterback Hank Bachmeier tweeted out that he had been offered by Tennessee last night.

Assuming that one doesn’t transfer before then, Tennessee will lose Quinten Dormady after next season. That will leave Jarrett Guarantano, Will McBride and JT Shrout on the roster.

Bachmeier is considered a four star prospect by the 247 sports database. He’s based out of Murrieta, California. Bachmeier is the third ranked pro-style passer in the country, according to 247.

Your typical west coast teams have all offered Bachmeier to this point. UCLA, USC, Cal, Colorado, Boise State, Arizona, Arizona State and Washington State are all in the mix. However, he also holds offers from Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Kentucky and LSU.

Pruitt and company will have a host of teams to beat, but they’re throwing their hat in the ring here. We’ll see if they can make any headway over the summer months.
