Tee Martin not expected to join Tennessee as offensive coordinator, per report

Martin won’t be coming home just yet.

With Jeremy Pruitt reportedly in place, the focus will now turn to filling out his staff. A lot of you are going to ask about former Tennessee quarterback and current USC offensive coordinator Tee Martin, but that possibility doesn’t appear to be likely.

ESPN’s Mark Schlabach says Martin is “not expected to return” to Tennessee.

Martin was reportedly contacted by Fulmer, but it was unclear whether or not that was in regards to the head coaching position. There was some thought that Martin could join the staff as the offensive coordinator, but it sounds like we should move on from that.

Martin had just completed his second regular season as USC’s offensive coordinator. With Pruitt being just 43 years old, the idea of a head coach in waiting scenario went out the window.

Maybe one day Tee will come home to Knoxville, but it doesn’t sound like it’s happening anytime soon.
