With the hiring and firing of head coaches, turnover in a recruiting class is expected. This cycle has hit Tennessee hard, but they should start to come out of that with Jeremy Pruitt now in place.
As the news leaked out, four star safety Trey Dean decided that it was time to go in a different direction. He announced his decommitment with this tweet this morning.

Dean visited Alabama last weekend. Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky and Florida are also in the mix for the 6-2, 180 pound safety prospect. His decommitment leaves Tennessee with 15 current commitments and the 27th ranked class in the country, per 247 sports.
It’s going to be interesting to see Pruitt balance coaching Alabama’s defense while piecing together Tennessee’s 2018 class. Kirby Smart did something similar two years ago when he took the Georgia job, but he didn’t have the early signing period to deal with. That’s a new wrinkle here and it will be something that we will follow very closely in the coming weeks.
