2018 Recruiting Update

Here’s the latest on some prospects the Tennessee coaching staff has its eyes on.

Tennessee’s DISH Orange and White Game may still be two weeks away, but the 2018 recruiting cycle is already well underway. The Under Armour All-America Camp was held last week in Atlanta and several UT targets were in attendance to compete against the rest of the nation’s best.

Matthew Hill, a 6’2”, 180-pound wide receiver from Snellville, Ga. (Brookwood), showcased a great combination of speed and hands during the camp. Hill lists Tennessee among his top schools, along with Auburn, Florida, Florida State and South Carolina. Hill is ranked as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite (0.9337) and among the top 150 players in the nation.

One of the Vols’ top targets in 2018 was also in attendance last week - Greg Emerson of North Side High School in Jackson, Tenn. The 6’3”, 296-pound defensive lineman is rated as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite (0.9812), though just on the outside of being a five-star as the #33 overall player in 2018. 247 has three predictions for Emerson, all three of which have him choosing the Vols, but Emerson also has offers from Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State, among others.

Norcross, Ga. (Greater Atlanta Christian) ATH Kyler McMichael is also high on the Vols. McMichael is listed at 6’0”, 195 pounds and most schools are looking at him as a defensive back. He is ranked as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite (0.9240) and the #9 ATH in the 2018 class. Along with the Vols, McMichael has offers from Alabama, Michigan, Clemson and Florida State.
