The location has been set for College Gameday’s week one visit. The ESPN crew will be in Atlanta for the Alabama-Florida State matchup — a game that figures to have huge implications on the early playoff picture. Both teams figure to be in the preseason top five.

Nothing too shocking here. Gameday was always going to be at this game. I applaud Alabama for scheduling big name non-conference opponents every year. They usually roll in these opening games, but this will be by far their toughest out of conference test to date.
Coincidently, Tennessee will face Georgia Tech at the same location just two days later on Monday night. It will be the 2nd leg of the Chick-Fil-A kickoff weekend. Maybe we can convince the Gameday crew to stick around.
Both games will be played in Atlanta’s new state of the art Mercedes-Benz Stadium instead of the old Georgia Dome, which will take some getting used to. Hopefully the Vols have some better luck in Atlanta with the venue change.
