This is actually the second time Jones will have transferred from the Vols. He left for Colorado following his freshman year, but returned to Tennessee shortly thereafter.
With Quinten Dormady and Jarrett Guarantano in a battle to be the heir to Josh Dobbs, it became apparent playing time for Jones would be scarce. Jones came into Tennessee with plenty of talent and hype, actually ranked above quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson coming out of high school.
Though he didn’t play as often as he would have liked, Sheriron was definitely a fan favorite, always providing energy on the sideline.
Will McBride now joins Dormady and Guarantano as the only scholarship quarterbacks on Tennessee’s roster.
Best of luck to Sheriron wherever he ends up!
