Three Star Tight End Jacob Warren Commits to Tennessee

Another in-state priority lands in Knoxville.

NCAA Football: Oklahoma at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee continued their recruiting momentum on Wednesday, landing local product Jacob Warren. Warren is a 6-6 tight end prospect from Farragut High School in the Knoxville area. He was a priority for Butch Jones and will immediately help out and area of need on the roster.

With Ethan Wolf and Jakob Johnson on the way out, Tennessee doesn’t have much behind him. Eli Wolf is there, but hasn’t played much to this point. So this could be a situation where you see Warren come in and contribute fairly early. He could immediately become the Vols number two tight end, offering a big body for the redzone.

Warren is a Tennessee legacy. His father James Warren played on the offensive line for the Vols during his playing career from 1991 to 1993.

Warren is the 11th commitment to this point of the 2018 recruiting class. Butch spoke about the momentum he seems to have on the trail and he doesn’t seem to be lying. This class is coming along nicely.
