Third round pick and former Tennessee Volunteer Cam Sutton has signed his rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sutton was selected on day two of the NFL Draft in the third round, 94th overall. It’s a four year deal for Sutton.
Sutton was a four year starter at Tennessee and a foundational piece of the defensive unit. He holds the Tennessee record with 37 passes defensed. The Vols have big shoes to fill trying to replace him this season.
“I’m a guy who’s about his business and just ready to get to work. I’m definitely going to make the most of every opportunity that they give me out there on the field and take advantage of that,” Sutton told Steelers.com.
Sutton has a big opportunity with the Steelers. The depth chart in front of him is favorable with Artie Burns, Senquez Golson, Ross Cockrell and William Gay sitting in front of him. With Sutton’s football IQ and ability on the field, he should see plenty of time early, possibly even out of the slot.
