A Big Weekend Boosts Tennessee in the National Recruiting Rankings

Tennessee now holds a top five class.

After a huge weekend of recruiting, it’s only natural to wonder how much this bumped up Tennessee in the recruiting Rankings. Butch Jones and company had possibly their biggest weekend of the year landing two running backs and a defensive tackle.

Four star back Lyn-J Dixon got the ball rolling on Saturday. Anthony Grant Jr. followed on Sunday while Jamarcus Chatman finally made things official on Sunday night. What an incredible weekend it was for the Vols.

Taking a spin around the big three recruiting sites, the new national rankings reflect that big weekend. Here’s what we have this morning.

After a bit of a down 2016 and 2017, Butch Jones appears set to return to the top ten in 2018. All of this could change quickly, obviously, but Butch Jones is keeping up his rapid pace. That’s now 15 commitments to this point before we hit July.

Butch Jones is feeling the heat to perform on the field, but he’s killing it off the field. It can’t be stated how much better off the program is at this point than where Derek Dooley left it. Recruiting is what Butch is best at, pretty easily. That’s not a bad thing either.
