Tennessee Recruiting Round-Up: Early Attrition, Adam Anderson’s Top Five

Catching up on the trail.

NCAA Football: SEC Media Days Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Through the madness that was SEC Media Days for Tennessee, you may have missed a couple of recruiting nuggets. Let’s catch up on some news.

Marquez Bembry heads to JUCO

The 6-3, 214 pound athlete has decided to take the JUCO route, due to concerns over academics. Bembry is a three star prospect and a part of the 2017 class.

2019 CB Adonis Otey Decommits

Otey committed to Tennessee back in April, but has now backed off of that. It’s not all that uncommon to see this with kids so far out from their final decisions. Otey is a local kid from the mid-state at Blackman. Otey has offers from a host of other schools, including Florida and LSU.

Vols in the mix for Adam Anderson?

Recent LSU decommit Adam Anderson has listed Tennessee in his new top five. He’s a teammate of Tennessee commit Jamarcus Chatman, who also left his LSU commitment. With all of Tennessee’s momentum on the trail lately, you can’t rule Anderson out. The 6-4 pass rusher would give Tennessee yet another stud prospect on the defensive line for 2018. Anderson is considered a top 50 player in the class, per 247. Georgia is considered the frontrunner for Anderson.
