Tennessee Announces Start Dates for Fall Camp

It’s getting closer.

Tennessee football has released the date for the opening of camp this season — and it’s not very far away at all. Players are set to report on July 28th, just two weeks from right now. The first practice will be held the following day on Saturday, July 29th.

Tennessee opened camp last season on August 1st. Media day this year will be held on August 13th. You think Butch Jones will be ready to name a staring quarterback by then? Yeah, I don’t either.

This will be our first taste of the new 2017 recruiting class on the field. We’ve a handful of early enrollees throughout the spring, including number one overall recruit Trey Smith, but this will be our first chance to see the entire group working with the veterans.

Expect plenty of talk about the quarterback during the month of August, but I’m interested to see who steps up on the offensive line. What will that combination look like? What will the secondary rotation look like? Who is going to emerge opposite of Jauan Jennings? We’ll hopefully start to answer those questions on July 29th.
