Checking in at number nine on our list is Tennessee senior offensive lineman, Jashon Robertson. Jashon is set to start for Tennessee somewhere on the interior, possibly even at center for the first time in his career. He will be a key leader and offensive piece for Butch in 2017.
Robertson is the second offensive lineman to make our list, with Trey Smith checking in at number ten overall. Here’s what we had to say about Jashon.
Terry Lambert: #2
I was pretty shocked to see Conner and Evan leave off Jashon on their lists. I think the senior offensive lineman is one of the most valuable pieces on the entire roster. He’s one of the better guards in the SEC, but may be forced into playing center this season — which could really mix up the offensive line combination. Tennessee would be hurting big time without this guy.
Conner Knapp: Unranked
Much like Trey Smith, Jashon Robertson will go a long way in determining the trajectory of Tennessee’s offense. Robertson came to Tennessee with high expectations, but has been simply okay for the past couple years. If he puts it together and has the season of which he’s capable, Tennessee could be the most stout its been on the offensive front under Butch Jones.
Evan Winter: Unranked
Robertson, arguably UT's best offensive linemen during the Jones era must be the anchor for the Tennessee offensive line this season. He has been a solid player throughout his career, noted by the All-SEC freshman accolades he received in 2014. However, for the Vols to pile up the wins like they need, Robertson must take that next step in 2017 in order to get the offense where it needs to go.
Stay tuned for our number eight player on Friday.
