Greg Emerson went down in pain after a rep in which he was thrown to the ground. The big time prospect out of Tennessee had to be carted off the field. Things didn’t look very good at the time, but Barton Simmons offered us with this update last night.
Spoke w someone close to Greg Emerson. Dislocated ankle/fractured fibula. Will need surgery but could b back as early as 4-6 wks. Great news

That’s about the best news Emerson could have heard. Anytime a cart comes out, your mind immediately assumes the worst. I think the initial fear for Emerson was that he may miss his senior season, but now that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Emerson himself updated the situation last night.
Thanks for all the prayers and concerns but I am fine I will be back and running w/ in 4-6 weeks

Emerson is out of Jackson, Tennessee. He’s currently Tennessee’s biggest remaining target inside the state. He currently holds a four star billing from most recruiting services. He will no doubt be the biggest priority for Butch Jones and company heading into the fall.
Tennessee is thought to have the upper hand here, but Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson are sniffing around the Jackson product.
