As you know by now, Greg Emerson has committed to the University of Tennessee. Emerson was the number five defensive tackle in the country and the best player not named Cade Mays in the state. This was one of, if not the biggest targets left for Butch Jones and company.
Emerson certainly made his commitment memorable. He announced live on NFL Network with Daniel Jeremiah and Dan Hellie.
Emerson started by saying, “I told everyone I was going to wait until December, but I guess I can go ahead and let everyone know. For the next four years I’ll probably be attending — further my education at the University of Knoxville. Go big orange.”

“They made me feel at home,” Emerson continued. “Most people don’t try and reach out to you as much as they do.”
Emerson is a four star prospect entering his final season of high school football in Jackson, Tennessee. He is expected to undergo surgery soon for a dislocated ankle, which will sideline him for 4-6 weeks.
He joins a talented group of defensive line prospects to commit to Tennessee. Jamarcus Chatman, Brant Lawless and D’Andre Litaker form a pretty formidable 2018 group for Butch Jones and company.
