According to this post from pennlive.com, Penn State is suing Bob Shoop for leaving. Shoop left Penn State in 2016 to take the same job at Tennessee. The university is claiming that Shoop owes the school nearly $900,000.
Shoop’s contract at Penn State stated that he would have to pay 50 percent of his base pay for the remainder of his contract if he left before a certain time. His contract also said that Shoop wouldn’t have to pay any of it if he left for a head coaching position.
With two years left on his deal at Penn State, Shoop would owe the school $891,856. Penn State has reportedly requested the money in a written request to no avail.
