Tennessee Basketball finalized their non-conference schedule and released it this morning on UTSports.com.
The schedule features home games against defending national champion North Carolina. Tennessee played the Tar Heels tough last season, leading most of the game in Chapel Hill, but lost it late. They’ll get their shot at redemption on December 17th. That’s the headliner game of the non-conference slate.
After that, the home schedule gets really light. Home games against Mercer, Presbyterian, High Point, Lipscomb and Furman round out pre-SEC play.
Tennessee has tough tests on the road, however. The Vols will play at Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Iowa State. The game at Iowa State will be a part of the SEC-Big 12 challenge.
In addition to that, Tennessee will take part in the Battle 4 Atlantis. Villanova, Purdue, Arizona, NC State, SMU, Western Kentucky and Northern Iowa are all possible opponents for the Vols. The tournament will take place in the Bahamas from November 22nd-24th.
The full SEC schedule is expected to be released later this summer. Here are the dates for the non-conference schedule.
