Tennessee Football Releases Jersey Numbers for Incoming Freshmen

Tennessee updated their roster on UTSports.com yesterday with some updated weights and number changes. The incoming freshman class has finally received their numbers, too. A ton of updates were released, so we’ll run them down for you real quick.

• The biggest news here is freshman running back Ty Chandler. The freshman tailback will wear the No. 3 jersey.
• Cornerback Shaq Wiggins will wear No. 6.
• Receiver Brandon Johnson and quarterback Will McBride simply swapped numbers — Johnson will now wear a No. 7 jersey while McBride will wear No. 17.
• Callaway will now share the No. 1 with defensive end Jonathan Kongbo, switching from No. 9.
• Derek Barnett’s No. 9 jersey will now be worn by freshman cornerback Cheyenne Labruzza and quarterback Seth Washington.
• Shawn Shamburger will share the No. 15 with Jauan Jennings.
• Freshman receiver Princeton Fant will share No. 18 with Nigel Warrior.
• Freshman receiver Jacquez Jones will wear No. 21, along with freshman linebacker Shanon Reid.
• Freshman running back Trey Coleman will share No. 24 with Todd Kelly Jr.
• Freshman receiver Josh Palmer will share No. 5 with Kyle Phillips.
• Freshman safety Maleik Gray will share No. 4 with John Kelly.
