Neyland, Fulmer Among Those Selected For 2017 Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame Class

The eight inductees will be honored during the South Carolina game on Oct. 14th.

The University of Tennessee announced the 2017 Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame inductees on Thursday morning.

The inductees, which will have a total of 8 former Tennessee coaches and players, includes former head football coach and player Phillip Fulmer, and former legendary head football coach General Robert Neyland.

On Thursday, Tennessee Athletic Director John Currie said, “Halls of fame, by design, stand to honor those who have truly distinguished themselves as elite. And this class of 2017 represents the very best of some of the University of Tennessee most elite and eras in their respective sports.”

The rest of the list includes Todd Helton (baseball), Monica Abbott (softball), Ray Bussard (Men’s Swimming & Diving), Justin Gatlin (Men’s Track & Field), Jeremy Linn (Men’s Swimming & Diving), and Delisa Walton Myricks (Women’s Track & Field).

The Hall of Fame inductees will be honored at an official induction ceremony on October 13th as well as during halftime of the Tennessee-South Carolina game at Neyland Stadium on October 14th.
