As you know by now, in 20 short days the Tennessee Volunteers will be hitting the field against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The game may be in Atlanta, but it will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the new home of the Atlanta Falcons.
The stadium will also serve as the new home of the SEC Championship game, ending the Georgia Dome era. Tennessee will play the second college football game of the weekend in this incredible new facility, following Alabama and Florida State who play on the Saturday night before.
Look at the inside of this place!

That “Halo board” is incredible. It should give video access to all four sides of the venue. Here’s a closer look from Darren Rovell.

This place is big time. I personally didn’t think the Georgia Dome needed to be replaced, but this Stadium will likely attract plenty more big time events. Let’s hope it brings more luck to Tennessee in the city of Atlanta than the Georgia Dome did.
