Butch Jones announced following Tuesday’s practice that freshman WR Jacquez Jones will miss the 2017 season after suffering a knee injury.

Jones came to Tennessee ranked as a three-star (0.8469) recruit by the 247Sports Composite Rankings, choosing the Vols over Miami, Wisconsin, Louisville and Kentucky.
It is unclear how much Jones would have played on offense this season anyway, but this is still harmful to the Vols’ depth at wide receiver. Tennessee will be relying on many freshmen and sophomores - Tyler Byrd, Marquez Callaway and breakout star of fall camp Joshua Palmer - behind Jauan Jennings at wideout this season.
Hopefully Jones makes a full recovery as soon as possible and returns ready to go in 2018.
