The SEC released the 2017-18 men’s basketball conference schedule this week, completing Tennessee’s full slate. After a challenging non-conference portion, Tennessee will kick things off at Arkansas on December 30th.
Bruce Pearl will return to Thompson-Boling Arena on January 2nd for a Tuesday night contest. Tennessee will get a chance to down Kentucky at home for the 3rd straight year the following Saturday, January 6th. They’ll travel to Nashville to face Vanderbilt the following game on January 9th.
Tennessee will come home to face Texas A&M, then hit the road to face Cuonzo Martin’s Missouri squad. Missouri is expected to be much improved after the addition of Martin and top recruit Michael Porter Jr.
A tough January SEC slate will wrap up at South Carolina, then in Knoxville against Vanderbilt. If that’s not bad enough, the Volunteers have to take a trip to Iowa State for the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
February offers a little relief for Tennessee. Home games against LSU and Ole Miss get things going, but road games at Kentucky and Alabama follow. Tennessee finishes up with two against Georgia, Florida at home and trips to both Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
The SEC tournament will be held in St. Louis from March 7th to March 11th, offering a new March wrinkle.
