Alton “Pig” Howard Signs with the Chicago Bears

Former Tennessee wide receiver has been reunited with Zach Azzanni. Howard is now a member of the Chicago Bears. Azzanni left his receivers coach position at Tennessee for the same position with the Bears. The connection here is obvious.

Howard was dismissed from the team in the middle of the 2015 season for a violation of team rules. Before that, Howard was a playmaker for Tennessee. He totaled over 700 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns as a junior in 2014.

Howard signed with the Oakland Raiders after going undrafted in 2016. Obviously, Howard failed to stick. Now he’ll get another chance with a familiar face in Chicago.

Still, Pig is a long shot to make the team, despite a not so loaded group at receiver in the Windy City. At just 5-7, Howard doesn’t exactly check a lot of boxes for the NFL. He’ll get his shot though, which is all Pig can ask for at this point.
