Well, that didnt take very long.
Even though it is technically by default, former Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs will start for his new team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, in Friday night’s preseason game against the Giants.
Both of the Steelers’ other quarterbacks are injured. Ben Roethlisberger left practice early due to an injured ankle on a low hit last Thursday. With Roethlisberger’s recent injury history, the move to start Dobbs is probably a precaution, especially with Landry Jones already hurt.
Excuse me while I be cliche, but it only takes one unfortunate play to become a starter.
Dobbs won’t have Antonio Brown to throw to, but he will have an improving Eli Rogers, the ever-lasting Darrius Heyward-Bey and former Vol Justin Hunter to throw to. If Dobbs can have a productive night with a lack of surrounding talent, then who knows what could be in store for him the rest of the season.
I now know what I will be doing Friday night! Best of luck, Josh!!
