What was already setting up to be an interesting week got thrown into overdrive by Tennessee head coach Butch Jones on Monday. He sent Vol Twitter into a frenzy when he accused the media of trotting out fake news and being too negative.
Yesterday, Paul Finebaum chimed in during a SportsCenter hit. The popular radio host said that Jones “has done a pretty miserable job this year.” He went on to say that this was “a terrible look for a football coach.”
Offensive coordinator Larry Scott, defensive coordinator Bob Shoop and defensive backs coach Charlton Warren talked about Georgia and how they’ll challenge Tennessee in UTSports.com’s Vol Report.
Scott teased a potential look at a “wildcat” formation earlier in the week. “that that’s probably something you’re going to see real soon,” Scott said. I normally am not a fan of what seems like an obvious package like that, but with all of the struggles Tennessee has had offensively, I’m not opposed to a John Kelly led formation.
Tennessee defensive end Kyle Phillips discussed Georgia and their loaded offense. “We’ve just got to kick ‘em in the mouth,” Phillips said. He had praise for Georgia’s talented backfield and freshman quarterback Jake Fromm.
Happy Wednesday, and go Vols!
