It took the Tennessee offense about three full quarters to get going on Monday night against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Unfortunately for them, the defense was totally lost at that point. The unit gave up big play after big play, putting more and more pressure on the offense.
Tennessee got within seven points twice, only to see the defense give up another touchdown. For the Vols to complete the comeback, it was going to take a turnover. I didn’t have any faith in the defense getting a stop late in that game.
And then here comes Rashaan Gaulden, making a play. It was another huge run for Georgia Tech, but Gaulden was able to punch the ball loose and give Tennessee one last shot.

It was so reminiscent of last year’s Texas A&M ending, where Malik Foreman made an eerily similar play.
The play will get buried and forgotten by most, but it was this moment that gave Tennessee a path to victory against Georgia Tech. Without it, Tennessee likely goes down 14 and is 0-1.
