One week of college football has already passed, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take a look at when and where Tennessee is projected to play in the postseason after a wild opening weekend.
On Tuesday, SEC Country, ESPN, and CBS Sports released their week one bowl projections with all three including Tennessee following their thrilling victory of Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Monday night.
ESPN has the Vols facing Georgia Tech yet again in a rematch, this time the site being Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte for the Belk Bowl on December 29th.
SEC Country’s Alec Shirkey projects a match up to determine the real orange and white UT as they have Tennessee facing off against Texas in Houston for the aptly named Texas Bowl on December 27th.
CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm released his bowl projections prior to kickoff between Tennessee and Georgia Tech, but has the Vols heading south to the Sunshine State to face ACC foe Virginia Tech in Jacksonville for the TaxSlayer Bowl on December 30th.
While most of these projections are where many have expected to see Tennessee land come December, the SEC East seems to be again up for grabs. Following a week one that saw Florida show little to no improvement on offense and an injury to Georgia QB Jacob Eason, Tennessee is going to have a chance to improve their stock in the coming weeks.
