For now, Kelly appears to be on track to return to the field for his redshirt-senior season. The Knoxville native missed most of the 2017 season after sustaining a knee injury versus Indiana State in week two. Kelly underwent surgery on the knee in October, and was granted another year of eligibility by the NCAA.
This will be a story to keep an eye for Vols fans as the extent of his injuries (if any) are not known as of now or if they will hinder his return in 2018.
An update from Kelly.
