Alabama commit Quay Walker says he’s considering Tennessee ‘very strongly’ after taking official visit

Does Pruitt have another big time prospect in the fold?

NCAA Football: Tennessee at Missouri Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee appears to have made some progress during their star-studded visit weekend, most notably with four star linebacker Quay Walker. He’s currently committed to Alabama, but he’s looking around and taking some high profile visits to other SEC schools prior to national signing day.

Tennessee was up first for Walker and it looks like it went pretty well. Sometimes, the best recruiters are the guys that you’ve already got committed. Check out what four star Tennessee commit JJ Peterson said about Walker.

Walker himself said that he was “shocked” by Tennessee. He also said that he’s now considering Tennessee “very strongly.”

Walker would go a long way in helping Jeremy Pruitt flip this roster to be 3-4 ready. The 6-4, 236 pound linebacker likely fits as an edge presence at the next level with the length that he has. Walker put up eight sacks in 2016.

Tennessee still has plenty of competition here, though. He will take a visit to Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Auburn to round out his recruitment. Walker is yet another example of a door being opened by this staff. What they’ve done in the past several weeks has been nothing short of remarkable.
