New Tennessee target Treveon Johnson decommits from Oklahoma

One to watch.

Student Sports

Just one week after Treveon Johnson took a visit to Arkansas, he announced that he was de-committing from the Oklahoma Sooners. Johnson had been committed since June 25th of this year.

The three star athlete gained an offer from Tennessee on January 17th. He’s set to visit Knoxville next weekend, just days before national signing day on February 7th. Johnson received an in home visit from Jeremy Pruitt and the Terry Fair on January 24th.

Johnson is listed as an athlete. He tweeted that Tennessee offered him both as a receiver and a corner. The Vols could really use the extra body on the cornerback depth chart, especially with Alontae Taylor, Jordan Young in the fold at receiver. At 6-1, he fits the mold of what Pruitt has been looking for at corner.

So as of right now, it seems like Johnson is down to Arkansas or Tennessee. The scales could tip in the Volunteers’ favor with Johnson’s visit this weekend, however. This is one name to keep in mind over the next 10 days.
