Jeremy Pruitt has reportedly made another hire at Tennessee, wrestling Craig Fitzgerald away from the Houston Texans to be his strength coach. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle broke the news tonight.
Texans strength and conditioning coach Craig Fitzgerald has resigned and has accepted job as the strength and conditioning coach at the University of Tennessee under new coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Fitzgerald has served as the strength coach for Harvard (all sports), Maryland (various sports), Penn State and South Carolina (football) before accepting his job with the Texans in 2014.
Jeremy Pruitt did not retain Rock Gullickson, who was brought in by Butch Jones after a rash of injuries ended the 2016 season. Unfortunately for the Vols, his addition didn’t help the injury situation in 2017. The Vols suffered plenty of attrition during the season, especially along the offensive line.
Fitzgerald will be tasked with helping fix that. We’ll see if this hire helps things going forward.
