One of Rick Barnes’ biggest targets of the 2020 class is set to visit Tennessee this weekend. Keon Johnson, the state of Tennessee’s No. 1 ranked player in the 2020 class, will take his official visit to Knoxville after a handful of unofficial visits.

Johnson is out of Bell Buckle, Tennessee and is rated as a high four-star prospect. He’s the 30th ranked player in the 2020 class currently, just on the edge of being considered a five-star player, according to 247 Sports. The 6-5, 180 pound shooting guard averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds per game last season.

Tennessee is far from alone in their pursuit of Johnson, however. Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Virginia and Auburn are also in the thick of things. Johnson has taken his official visit to Vanderbilt and Auburn. He’s scheduled to see Virginia in the coming weeks after his visit to Tennessee.

Barnes took his recruiting to a new level recently, earning a commitment from five-star guard Josiah James. After landing a top 15 player in 2019, Barnes is looking to get off to a fast start in the 2020 class, which doesn’t yet have a commitment.

Johnson has two crystal ball projections for now, with one pointing towards Ole Miss and the other pointing towards Tennessee.
