Tennessee has been gaining traction with in-state running back Eric Gray over the last month, despite the fact that Gray remained committed to Michigan. That changed this morning, as Gray announced his decision to decommit and reopen his recruitment.
Please respect my decision. Thank you ✊ pic.twitter.com/0paTQfaY4k

Tennessee doesn’t have a running back committed to this point in their 2019 class. However, 247’s crystal ball projections have flipped in favor of the Vols in recent weeks. Tennessee now leads for Gray in that category and should extend that lead after this news.
Gray comes from the Memphis area, checking in as the eighth ranked player in the state of Tennessee. He is the third ranked all purpose back and sits at 209th overall in the class of 2019, according to 247’s composite rankings.
Gray said this week that he plans on taking his final two visits. Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M are in play for those final two trips.
The three-time Mr. Football winner in the state of Tennessee amassed over 8,000 rushing yards in his high school career. He scored a staggering 124 times on the ground.
