Welcome to the early signing period, class of 2019 edition. The Tennessee Volunteers are in the thick of yet another rebuild as Jeremy Pruitt tries to bring the Vols back to prominence in the Southeastern Conference.

In order to win in the Fall, you’ve got to win throughout the year on the recruiting trail, but especially through December through February. Tennessee is expected to sign roughly 15 of their current commits during this early signing period. Several of their uncommitted targets are committing and signing over the next three days as well, so that number will likely climb a bit.

Tennessee will likely sign the bulk of their class over the next two days, but they still have over a month until the traditional signing day occurs on February 6th.

The Vols sit 16th in 247’s class rankings right now, but they’ve got a pretty good shot to finish strong here with a little over a month to go. That number could realistically get to about 10th or so with Darnell Wright and Quavaris Crouch currently leaning Tennessee.

Below you’ll find all of the updates over the next three days.

5:30 PM: Quavaris Crouch commits and signs with Tennessee. He’s expected to enroll early.

12:00 PM: Just when you thought Tennessee was done.... Quavaris Crouch has surprised everyone and will go ahead and announce tonight. We’ll know his college of choice around 6:30 PM eastern tonight. Crouch is a four-star, top 30 overall player. He will be either an outside linebacker or a running back at the next level.

1:05 PM: Four-star running back Eric Gray commits to Tennessee. He is the second signee for the Vols that was previously uncommitted. Read about his commitment here.

We are waiting on the announcement of four-star running back Eric Gray today. The former Michigan commit will choose between Tennessee and South Carolina. The Vols hold a big lead.

Gray will announce at 1 PM Eastern.

6:07 PM: That’s going to do it for Wednesday. Tennessee finishes with 17 signees, which is all but three of their commits. Those three guys — Lakia Henry, LeDarrius Cox and Anthony Harris can all be considered as shaky for now.

The biggest thing left to watch for Tennessee comes tomorrow with four-star running back Eric Gray. The Vols are in a great spot there.

4:00 PM: Tennessee target JUCO DL Nick Figueroa signs with USC.

3:48 PM: Three-star Tennessee commit Jalil Clemons (DE) flips to Memphis. This was was in the works over the past few weeks.

3:33 PM: Three-star JUCO DL Savion Williams signs with Tennessee. Williams is the No. 1 ranked JUCO DL in the 2019 class.

2:28 PM: Three-star JUCO DL Darel Middleton signs with Tennessee.

2:03 PM: Four-star guard Jackson Lampley has signed with the Vols.

12:28 PM: Three-star cornerback Warren Burrell signs with Tennessee.

11:46 AM: Four-star DE Justin Eboigbe sticks with Alabama. Tennessee was in late trying to flip.

11:35 AM: Five-star tackle Wanya Morris is in. He’s all Vol, as he’s been since May.

11:20 AM: RB Noah Cain picks Penn State, as expected. Tennessee made a late push.

11:08 AM: Three-star safety Aaron Beasley signs with Tennessee. This one was a bit of a surprise as he was initially planning to wait.

10:55 AM: Three-star, massive DT Elijah Simmons signs with the Vols.

10:50 AM: Jaylen Ellis sticks with Baylor after visiting Tennessee over the weekend. Now we wait on JUCO WR JaVonta Payton.

10:20 AM: Three-star tackle Chris Akporoghene and three-star offensive guard Melvin McBride have signed.

10:16 AM: WR Jerrod Means signs with Tennessee. He was previously uncommitted. The 6-2 receiver is a three-star prospect. Means was thought of by some as a backup plan if things didn’t pan out with JaVonte Payton or Jaylen Ellis.

9:36 AM: Three-star quarterback Brian Mauer is official.

9:32 AM: Four-star safety Jaylen McCollough has signed.

9:23 AM: Three-star tight end Sean Brown and four-star cornerback Tyus Fields are officially in.

8:28 AM: Four-star tight end Jackson Lowe officially signs with Tennessee.

8:00 AM: Speedy receiver target Jaylen Ellis announces he will sign early after all. He was initially planning on waiting until the traditional signing day. He will sign at 9:45 central (I assume).

7:22 AM: Four-star receiver Ramel Keyton is the first player to sign with Tennessee. He’s been committed to the Volunteers since May.
