Tennessee didn’t waste any time after the early signing period ended. After securing 19 signatures from the 2019 class, Jeremy Pruitt’s staff sent out a couple more offers in the 2020 class. One of those was to Daniyel Ngata, a four-star athlete out of California.
Ngata announced the offer on Twitter Sunday afternoon.

The 5-9, 180 pound Ngata is out of Folsom, California, but still holds SEC offers from Alabama and LSU. Tennessee has now gotten into the mix. West coast programs like Washington, UCLA, Arizona State, Utah and Washington State have all offered as well. That list will continue to grow going forward.
Ngata is the 107th ranked player in the 247 Composite Rankings for 2020. He’s the 9th ranked athlete nationally and the 15th ranked player out of the state of California.
A little bit of a hybrid player, Ngata ran for over 800 yards last year and had over 650 yards receiving. He found the endzone 20 times during his junior season. In his highlights below, you can see his playmaking ability in the open field. That’s something Tennessee doesn’t have too much of on the current roster.
