According to Matt Zenitz of al.com, Chip Lindsey is heading to Kansas to be the Jayhawks’ offensive coordinator. It’s a power move for new head coach Les Miles and one that directly impacts the Tennessee offensive coordinator search.

Tennessee’s search had seemed to narrow to Lindsey and Freeze over the weekend. With Lindsey off the board, Hugh Freeze becomes the clear focus of this search. Will he now entertain Auburn? Will another school come along and make a play?
As Chris Low noted this morning, Tennessee has competition for Freeze. If he’s the man Pruitt wants, they need to move quickly. With the Auburn offensive coordinator job open and Alabama’s likely to follow, Pruitt could be forced to move on to his third option if this drags on for too much longer.
