According to Oklahoma State’s 247 site, Tennessee has officially offered their offensive coordinator position to Mike Yurcich, the current offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State.
But Go Pokes can now officially report that Mike Yurcich has been offered the Offensive Coordinator position at Tennessee and at a substantial bump in pay than what he’s currently making at Oklahoma State. (Via Go Pokes)
Yurcich has been in the mix since the Hugh Freeze speculation ended early on in the search. As you would expect, Yurcich has declined to comment on his connection with the Tennessee opening. He’s also never really denied the rumors either.
Yurcich has also been connected to Ohio State, where they are reportedly interested in adding him to the offensive staff in some capacity. They have Kevin Wilson at offensive coordinator after Ryan Day was promoted to head coach, but still have one open slot on the staff to fill.
If it’s not Yurcich for Tennessee, it’s a pretty wide open field for Jeremy Pruitt. Remember, the NFL season ends today. That could open up more candidates if Yurcich isn’t the answer. For now though, we’ll be watching closely after the Liberty Bowl ends.
