Marquill Osborne announces transfer from Tennessee

The junior defensive back made the announcement via twitter on Friday.

Tennessee is now down a player on the defensive side of the ball as Marquill Osborne announced his intentions to transfer from the program on twitter, Friday afternoon.


The junior defensive back was a part of former head coach Butch Jones’ 2016 class as a four-star prospect out of North Carolina according to 247 Sports.

During his three year stint in Knoxville, Osborne saw action in 30 games, totaling 19 tackles, a sack, two pass break-ups and two interceptions.

Both interceptions came this past season versus Kentucky in the fourth quarter in a 24-7 win. Osborne also score his first and only career touchdown in 2018 off of a blocked punt versus ETSU.

Osborne joins former Tennessee quarterback Will McBride as the second player to transfer following since the season ended last month.

While he has yet to announce his transfer destination, Osborne received offers from Florida, Ohio State and LSU, among others during his recruiting process.
