Three Star defensive tackle D’Andre Litaker decommits from Tennessee

The Vols lose a commit.

Tennessee has lost the commitment of D’Andre Litaker, per Woody Wommack of Rivals.com. Litaker had been committed to Tennessee since last summer, but didn’t sign with the Vols in December.

Here’s what Litaker told Rivals.com.

“I want to thank the coaches for giving me the chance to get my education at Tennessee,” Litaker said. “But I feel great now physically and I know I can play at high level in college and I’m going to find a place that’s right for me.”

The 6-3, 285 pound defensive tackle is out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He is considered a three star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports.

This situation felt off since the new staff arrived. Litaker found himself buried in a crowed class of interior defensive lineman, which includes Greg Emerson, Brandt Lawless and Kingston Harris.

Litaker tore his ACL in early September. From the wording of his quote, it sounds like that might have played a role in this decision.

He currently holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Georgia. As the report from Rivals notes, Oklahoma, SMU, FAU and Miami are all making late pushes for Litaker.
