Not exactly the way we wanted to roll out of bed here, but the Tennessee Volunteers have lost a commitment to kick off national signing day. Anthony Grant, a running back prospect, has flipped to Florida State this morning.

Grant was considered to be a three star prospect by 247 Sports and a four star prospect by Rivals.
Ever since Jeremy Pruitt arrived in town, Grant’s status had been rocky. He remained committed, but he was sniffing around elsewhere — mainly in the ACC. North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Florida State were all in the mix here.
With Grant’s departure, Tennessee is now left with just one lone running back commit in Jeremy Banks, who signed during the early signing period. Tennessee remains in the running for a couple of four star backs in Tavion Thomas and Jashaun Corbin, so watch out for those a little later in the day.
