Well, count this one as one out of left field. Tennessee has apparently offered and will sign safety Joseph Norwood out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Stephen Hargis had the news this morning.
Brainerd's Joseph Norwood @_jnorwood3 just got the call from UT coach Jeremy Pruitt with the offer he was hoping and waiting for. Norwood committed to UT and will sign with the Vols today at the school. #bestofpreps

@_jnorwood3 reaction to the offer from UT - dropped the phone & began crying. Thanked UT coaches and said "I can't explain what this means to me." Norwood had said earlier "Nobody has ever touched that sign above the door & given their all more than I will for UT." #bestofpreps

Norwood is a four star prospect, according to 247 Sports. He checks in at 6-1, 170 pounds. Norwood held offers from UMass, MTSU and Tulane, among others. He’s the second safety signing of the day, following Trevon Flowers.
He took an unofficial visit to Tennessee on February 3rd. Norwood shot up 247 Sports’ rankings in their last update, climbing all the way up to the No. 11 ranked player in the state of Tennessee.
Tennessee will sign Norwood later today.
