The 2nd-seeded Tennessee Volunteers will face the 7th-seeded Mississippi State Bulldogs on Friday night in St. Louis. Mississippi State took care of LSU on Thursday, beating the Tigers 80-77.
Tennessee beat Mississippi State 76-54 in Starkville on February 27th. Admiral Schofield led the way for the Volunteers with 24 points on 9-18 shooting. The Bulldogs held a first half lead, but Tennessee pulled away in the 2nd half.
Mississippi State advances to Friday’s round, joining Georgia and Alabama, who won earlier in the day. South Carolina and Arkansas will play tonight to round out the day.
The game is set to tip-off at 7 PM Eastern. SEC Network will have the coverage.
