The Tennessee Volunteers continued their search for cornerback help on Saturday. The Vols hosted several prospects on Saturday for visits, one of which being DJ James. Jeremy Pruitt and the Tennessee staff capped his visit with a scholarship offer.

James has been committed to Mississippi State since February 24th, just 12 days after receiving an offer from Joe Moorhead’s staff. 247 Sports ranks James as a three-star prospect. The 6-0, 175 pound prospect is out of Spanish Fort, Alabama.
Cornerback remains a massive need for the Vols after missing out on several targets on national signing day back in February. Tennessee will rely on Shawn Shamburger, Marquill Osborne and Baylen Buchanan this season — maybe even Tyler Byrd or Carlin Fils-Aime from the offensive side of the ball.
Tennessee will have to get James to flip from Mississippi State, but will also have to hold off Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss and others who have also offered.
