The work continues on both the football and basketball side of recruiting for the Tennessee Volunteers. Rick Barnes and company are aiming high, looking to capitalize on their successful 26-9 season on the hardwood.
One 2019 target that has emerged is five-star center Isaiah Stewart. The 6-8, 242 pounder has college basketball’s elite programs coming hard after him. Just in the last couple of weeks alone, Stewart has seen Tom Izzo, Archie Miller, Mike Krzyzewski and Jim Boeheim come to see him.
According to Jake Weingarten, Tennessee will be the next in-home visit for Stewart.

We don’t typically think of Tennessee playing with the big boys on the college basketball recruiting trail, but maybe that can begin to change with more success.
Stewart is a five-star prospect out of Rochester, New York. He is the 25th ranked player in the 2019 class, according to 247 Sports. The crystal ball projections lean Duke, but Texas, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Georgetown are also in the mix.
Tennessee currently has one commitment in the 2019 class from 6-6 small forward Davonte Gaines. Assuming Tennessee fills their two open spots this year, that will leave another two open for the 2019 class with Admiral Schofield and Kyle Alexander set to see their eligibility expire.
