The Tennessee Volunteers continued their work on the 2019 recruiting class on Monday, sending out an offer to four-star center Kofi Cockburn. The 6-11, 248 pound big man is from Middle Village, New York.

According to 247 Sports, Cockburn received offers Tennessee and Kansas yesterday. He picked up a Pittsburgh offer last week. The center prospect is the 41st rated player in 247 Sports’ 2019 rankings.

Cincinnati, St. John’s and Syracuse are the early leaders for Cockburn.

Tennessee has offered 2019 centers D.J. Burns and Isaiah Stewart over the past few weeks as they plan for the exit of upcoming senior Kyle Alexander. The Vols have been trending in the right direction for Burns since his visit earlier this month.

They have one commitment in their 2019 class right now in the form of Davonte Gaines, who is a 6-6 small forward prospect. Assuming Tennessee fills their two open spots in the 2018 class, that would leave the Vols with three remaining scholarships in the 2019 class.

Rick Barnes will have to replace Alexander, along with Admiral Schofield after the 2018-19 season. Tennessee has been active in both the transfer market and the recruiting scene. Nothing has come together yet, however.

We’ll see if Tennessee can put something together soon, both with the 2018 and 2019 class.
