You don’t typically hear too much from strength coaches, so this post from the Tennessee social media team is pretty cool. One of Jeremy Pruitt’s first power moves as head coach was hiring Craig Fitzgerald away from the Houston Texans.
Tennessee struggled with a rash of injuries during Butch Jones’ final two years in Knoxville. It’s hard for outsiders like us to put a finger on why, but Jeremy Pruitt is hoping that Fitzgerald can help fix that trend.
In the video below, Fitzgerald takes you through the remodeling of Tennessee’s new weight room, giving specifics on why they did what they did. It’s actually pretty interesting.

The best part here is Fitzgerald talking about the removal of mirrors. “We don’t need our guys looking at themselves, we need them training.” Spectacular.
Fitzgerald just oozes energy. Hopefully Tennessee has found their long-term fix to a problem that has plagued them for far too long.
